Everyone knows grandparents spoil their grandkids to bits. But seniors with more disposable income are taking doting to a whole new level, with grandparents spending billions on their beloved grandkids.
In fact, grandparents in the US are spending US$4.3 billion on their grandchildren’s tuition, in addition to their everyday needs, and this is 64 per cent more than just ten years ago, noted former CBS correspondent Leslie Stahl.
In Singapore, seniors continue to play important roles in their grandchildren’s lives, with many of them taking care of their grandkids while the parents are out at work. In this way, seniors are playing a nurturing role to their grandchildren, while contributing to the family’s resources.
