Study reveals that immigrants founded more than half of top tech companies in the US

From Apple to Amazon and Google to Facebook, some of the industry’s biggest names trace their roots back to the ingenuity of first or second generation immigrants.

Despite the rise of anti-immigrant sentiments in the United States, a recent report by venture capitalist Mary Meeker has revealed that some of the world’s greatest technology makers owe their success to their immigrant founders. The report also highlighted Silicon Valley’s continued support and backing of foreign labour in order to value-add and build upon the country’s existing talent.
