Making cities more accessible for the disabled

By 2050, the number of people with disabilities will be around 940 million, or 15 per cent of total urban dwellers. Some cities are making remarkable changes, with a news feature compiling the examples. In Seattle, pedestrians with limited mobility can map out disabled-friendly routes through an application called AccessMap. In Singapore, it has won praise from the UN for its accessible “user-friendly built environment”.
