Researchers found that in male-dominated fields such as physics and computer science, gender equality may only be achieved after over 250 years, said a report. In contrast, female-dominated fields such as nursing could take 320 years. Countries such as Japan, Germany and Switzerland were also found to have one of the largest gender gaps across disciplines.

For Singapore, experts say that gender equality could increase the country’s Gross Domestic Product by a massive S$26 billion by 2025.
