Fewer women in the US workforce

The United States used to be a leader in the number of working women. But it now lags behind other advanced economies due to a stagnation in policies aimed at incentivising women to work, according to the International Monetary Fund. In contrast, countries in Europe have developed more supportive policies such as improved access to childcare and longer maternity leave.
