Exercise as a way to turn back time

A recent study has revealed the extraordinary benefits of exercise in helping to boost the immune systems of 80-year olds.

A study in the UK on 125 long distance elderly cyclists well in their 80s revealed that despite their age, they had immune systems similar to that of 20-year olds. This finding, researchers believe, is due to an active and engaged lifestyle which helped to boost their immune system. In turn, they were less susceptible to infections and illnesses compared to elderly who led largely sedentary lifestyles.

In Singapore, older workers are breaking stereotypes too, by actively participating in the workforce. As the saying goes, old truly is gold.
