Does Immigration boost the economy?

Even as right wing populism continues to rise in the US and parts of Western Europe, studies continue to show that immigration is a boost, not a bane, to economies.

Professor Paul Kerin, from the University of Adelaide, argues in an opinion piece that opponents of immigration are getting all their facts wrong. He believes that immigration helps to boost the Australian economy by adding jobs, vitality and the demographic dividend to the country.

A separate study in Germany also showed that states with higher levels of immigration showed lower levels of unemployment and higher levels of capital investment.
